Fotot e rralla të Luftës së Parë botërore me ngjyra

Nga larja e rrobave të tyre në burimet e fshatrave te ngrënia e drekës pranë ndërtesave të bombarduara, këto fotografi të rralla me ngjyra kanë kapur atë që ishte jeta e përditshme për ushtarët larg nga fushëbeteja në Frontin Perëndimor.


Imazhet, janë mundësuar duke përdorur procesin e Autochrome me ngjyra nga galeria e vëllezërve Lumiere dhe të gjitha fotot janë shkrepur në vitin 1917, viti i katërt i Luftës së Parë Botërore. Ato dokumentojnë se si anëtarë të Forcave Aleate kalonin disa momente të qeta larg nga luftimet.



Në një foto, një grup prej disa ushtarësh shihet duke pritur jashtë një dyqani ushqimor në Reims, një qytet në veri-lindje të Francës. Një tjetër tregon katër trupa me uniformë të relaksuar teksa lexojnë gazetën jashtë një kioske në Rexpoede, më pak se 10 milje në jug të Dunkirk.

Fotot e tjera hehdin dritë mbi rolin e rëndësishëm që mluajtën ushtarët senegalezë. Ata janë mkapur duke pushuar në një dhomë të veshur me uniforma, teksa përgatiten për të luftuar në vijën e frontit së bashku me homologët e tyre francezë.

Edhe pse nuk ka fotot të dyluftimeve apo  tëjetës në llogore, imazhet krijojnë iluzionin e një jete paqësore të përdtishme.

Një ndërtesë në Dunkirk është fotografuar pas një sulm ajror gjerman, ndërsa imazhet e tjera tregojnë ushtarë francezë të maskuar me dhe armë pranë hekurudhës, përpara një ofensive të forcave gjermane.
